The celebration is held annually since 1991 by the decision of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR. On this day in the Smolensk branch of NRU "MPEI" held a seminar "history of the Russian Orthodox Church. The Traditions Of Orthodoxy." Seminars on Orthodox culture, held in the framework of the project "the Road to the temple: the revival of traditions of Orthodox power" with the support of the International grant competition "Orthodox initiative 2017-2018". Students are offered to discuss such topics as "the Baptism of Russia and its impact on the socio-cultural life of Rus', History of Orthodox culture", "Orthodox origins of Russian religious philosophy", "Christianity and world soul in the works of Russian religious philosophy XIX - XX centuries"and others.
