A new step in international cooperation
Alternative energy based on the use of solar, wind, biofuels, is no longer a fantasy but a reality. Among European countries, the palm in this area keeps Denmark. But Germany has a lot to learn.
In early February 2012 during the winter holidays a group of students and graduates of MPEI branch in Smolensk under the direction of the head. the Department "Theoretical bases of electrical engineering" A. A. Gordilovskiy visited Germany in the framework of the partnership cooperation agreement.
The Central event of the program was specially organized for our group seminar at the Institute. Leibniz (Potsdam – Bornim). This Institute conducts fundamental research in all fields of agricultural machinery. During the seminar, Dr. D. Legler, B. Linke and other leading specialists of the Institute told the guests from Smolensk on the production and use of biogas in electric and thermal power generation of Germany, the receipt and use of biochar to enhance soil fertility. Covered the legislative framework, ensuring the priority development of biotechnology. Analyzed the economic aspects of the introduction of non-conventional energy.
Our delegation met with biofuel production, called for municipal purposes in the city of Strausberg. In their free time the delegation members were given the opportunity to explore Berlin, visit the Reichstag building, Park Sanssouci, to visit the residence of Frederick the Great.
This is the third trip that branch of MPEI in Smolensk organizes for its students and graduates. It was the result of the expansion of participants ' knowledge about the traditional and alternative energy and use of energy saving technologies in industry and utilities. The obtained knowledge will be used in the educational process, the preparation of master's theses, will help to expand your horizons and professional growth of young specialists.
