Position about open competition on Orthodox calendars 2019
- General provisions
A competition for the best layout in the Orthodox calendar is a branch of the "national research University "MPEI" in the city of Smolenski the framework of the grant project "the Road to the temple: the revival of traditions of Orthodox power" with the support of the International grant competition "Orthodox initiative 2017-2018".
- The goals and objectives of the Contest
2.1. The aim of the Competition is to introduce students and residents to the traditions of Orthodox culture.
2.2. The Objectives Of The Competition:
- to raise awareness of the secular student youth of the Orthodox holidays and traditions of the Orthodox culture;
- to identify and support artistically gifted students;
- to ensure the development of skills and professional competencies of students;
- to support the educational and training process in the branch.
- The order of the Competition
3.1. Works on Competition are accepted from 20 August 2018, 18 September 2018.
3.2. Conducting creative expertise, the winners of the competition, the placement of their projects in social networks and implementation of Internet voting for the award and audience award, information regarding results of the Contest carried out with the competition Commission from 19 September to 21 September 2018.
The composition of the Commission:
- Starodvorane Natalia Pavlovna – head of the project, head. the Department of Humanities, branch of the "national research UNIVERSITY "MPEI" in Smolensk;
- Archpriest Valery Ryabokon, STS Dean of the deanery, head of Department of the Smolensk diocese for Church-state relations with society and the media, the rector of the Church of the Holy new Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church – project officer;
- Kulikova Marina Gennadievna – member of the project, associate Professor of the Department "Technological machines and equipment" branch of the "national research UNIVERSITY "MPEI" in Smolensk;
- Nagorno Anna Georgievna– Deputy Director of the branch of the "national research UNIVERSITY "MPEI" in Smolensk on educational work;
- Tyutyunnik, Alexander Anatolyevich– Deputy head of Department "Management and information technologies in Economics" on educational work of the branch of FGBOU VPO "NIU "MPEI" in Smolensk;
- Pranav Alexander – graduate of SF MEI, Director of printed salon "PrintUP";
- Novikova Marina Aleksandrovna – project officer, assistant of the Department "Technological machines and equipment" branch of the "national research UNIVERSITY "MPEI" in Smolensk.
3.3. Mandatory requirement for participants – presentation of the original designed layout of the calendar, reflecting the theme and content of the contest.
3.4. The number of authors of one of the layout – no more than three people.
3.5. One participant or group of authors can apply to the competition they have developed several models.
3.6. Contestants can also submit the original layouts of calendars that are made outside of the terms of reference. These works, the contest Commission will be considered separately and will celebrate the best of the participants with special awards for creativity and originality.
- The Participants
The competition involved students and graduates of the branch of the "national research UNIVERSITY "MPEI" in Smolensk, students and graduates of other higher and secondary educational institutions.
- Works requirements (technical specification)
5.1. All works presented on competition, should be performed in accordance with the General requirements:
- Bitmap. A resolution of at least 300 dpi. This should be a real resolution, not the lower.
- A3(297x420 mm).
- The CMYK color space.
- The black color of the text should be true black (0,0,0,100) and not composite.
- All fonts convert to curves. Fonts allowed to introduce or attach separately to the model.
- Orientation vertical.
- To provide for the departure of not less than 5 mm. (Departure is the output image beyond the boundaries of the square format to avoid the unsealed edges of the sheet when cutting)
- Fields from the edge of the trim inside the sheet format for text and other important elements at least 5 mm.
- To provide the field under the spring, and felling under the crossbar at the top of each sheet 20 mm.
- To preview and selection of accepted PDF files. In the future, for selected Commission works to provide the source files of programs that were created (CDR, PSD (not flattened layers), etc.)
- Minimum font size – 14.
- The maximum number of leaves – 13.
The sequence of leaves: the first leaf is the title; the rest months.
- No surrender is allowed the finished project with the use of images in the format *.jpeg.
- Computer layout of the project should be submitted in electronic form; the name of the file "Calendar – Name the name of the Group (author/s)"
5.2. It is possible to create your original version of the layout of the Orthodox calendar (wall other format; table – "house" (simple or flipchart); stitched in a magazine format A-4 and others). These works, the contest Commission will consider separately and will celebrate with special diplomas.
5.3. Mandatory items on the list calendar:
- Fine fragment signed.
- The month calendar (for 2019).
- Orthodox holidays should be located under the calendar months. It is permissible to place all the holidays on the 1st (January) worksheet, releasing, thus, place on other worksheets to text (e.g., quotations, poetry, etc.).
- Orthodox positions.
- On the back of the last page indicates the author, the compulsory phrase (the Work is executed at support of the International grant competition "Orthodox initiative 2017-2018") and the logo of the grant competition.
5.4. The draft should be attached with the Application form for participation in the competition, containing information about the author (authors) (Annex 1).
5.5. Work available on electronic media (flash cards) in the Cabinet 220 (Department of Humanities) or sent by e-mail: mar.novikova@inbox.ru
5.6. Accepted materials will not be returned.
- Evaluation criteria
Entries will be selected on the following criteria:
- design quality (compliance with technical requirements);
- the content and the conformity of the subject matter of the competition tasks;
- the creativity and originality.
- Funding Competition
The competition is conducted on a noncommercial basis. The main costs for the organization, Competition, final actions, to encourage the participants and winners of the Contest are the founders.
- Summing up and encouragement of winners of Competition
8.1. The best participants of the tender Commission awards the diplomas of laureates. The number of winners – 5.
8.2. The competition Commission shall establish prizes for the winners.
8.3. Layout one of 5 laureates of the calendars, which received the audience award during the Internet voting, is to be printed, published and circulated.
8.4. The decision of the tender Committee are final and not subject to revision.
